WITH the Olympic torch fast approaching Trafford the day is set to be a very special one for Stanford Park Infant School pupil, Mary Pusey.
When the seven-year-old was born in Sale on 20/12/04 she unwittingly became part of the ‘Children’s Promise’ Olympics scheme.
The scheme gave all children born on that day the opportunity to play some part in the games.
In total 701 children were registered to take part and they have been getting involved in various Olympic events. On Saturday, June 23 when the torch arrives in Manchester, Mary will have her chance to shine.
Sir Chris Hoy will arrive in the city centre with the torch where he will be greeted by Mary and other children.
Dad, Tim said: “It’s been an exciting time, it’s something to look back on and she is very excited about it.”
