STEP off the sidelines and become a torchbearer with the Picture Yourself with the Torch Twitter campaign.
The new London 2012 initiative, set up by the team at Trafford Council, gives people the opportunity to appear as if they are standing in a packed stadium, with the Olympic torch held proudly above their heads as people cheer them on.
Drag artists, children, former Commonwealth volunteers and a huge lion have all got involved in the Twitter fun so far.
Dan Foster, Olympic communications coordinator for Trafford Council said: “We are using Twitter as a way of quickly letting people know about important messages during the games, such as ticket availability, parking and road closures.”
Budding snappers have until July 1 to send their best torch poses through to Trafford council’s Twitter page so they can be reworked and returned to you digitally.
An online gallery, featuring every photo, will also be available to view at trafford.gov.uk/2012 To picture yourself with the torch simply upload a photo of a person holding an imaginary torch to Trafford Council’s Twitter page @trafford_2012
