The Crown has been spotted resuming filming for series 5, after it briefly paused last week due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Deadline reported last week that writer Peter Morgan had said filming may be stopped for a short period due to the situation.

He said: "The Crown is a love letter to her and I’ve nothing to add for now, just silence and respect. I expect we will stop filming out of respect too."

Netflix later confirmed this, stating: “As a mark of respect, filming on The Crown was suspended today. Filming will also be suspended on the day of Her Majesty The Queen’s funeral.”

Today in the town of Oundle in Northamptonshire filming crews were spotted on North Street, which were focussed on one building with a sign for D Muir Photography on it.

Information on if any of the main cast members will appear for these bits of filming is not known.

Series 5 of the programme is still set for release in November 2022, which will continute to follow the Royal Family into the 1990s, which will likely cover Charles and Diana getting a divorce.

A whole new cast will be in for this series including Imelda Staunton as the Queen, Dominic West as Prince Charles and Elizabeth Debicki as Diana, Princess of Wales.
