PARTINGTON Methodist Church, on Warburton Lane, will be hosting a free concert by the Sale Methodist Singers, on November 7 at 7.30pm.
The concert is entitled 'Sing for Joy', and is a programme of easy-listening light choral music with a leaning towards British and American composers.
There is no charge for admission, but there will be a collection in aid of Action for Children.
The Sale Methodist Singers is one of the longest-established choirs in Sale, founded in 1961, and it specialises in presenting a series of concerts of light music each spring in aid of local or national charities.
It also holds an informal evening of carols, 'Sing Christmas', in December and presents a sacred work during Lent.
In its early years the choir's membership came solely from singers from the churches in the Sale Methodist Circuit and is still the official choir of the Sale Methodist Circuit, but in recent years it has widened its membership to include singers from other churches and welcomes all singers.
The concert on November 7 will be the first occasion in more than 40 years that the choir has sung in Partington.
