Urmston choir marks First World War centenary
URMSTON Choral Society presents Songs for Heroes, a special concert to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
There will be two performances - at St Luke's RC Church, Swinton Park Road, Salford, on September 18 and at Flixton Girls School, Flixton Road, Urmston, on September 19.
A varied programme includes The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace by Karl Jenkins, the wartime classic The White Cliffs of Dover and violin solos, including from the multi-Oscar winning movie, Schindler's List.
