A CHORAL concert is being held in Sale next month to raise money for the appeal for the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.
The event involving the Cantibus Choral Ensemble and friends, has been renamed Music for Manchester Sing Alleluia and will be performed on July 8, at The Avenue Methodist Church, Sale, (M33 4PL), doors open at 6,45pm for 7.30pm and includes accompanist Christopher Cotton and director David Evans.
Mr Evans said: "In light of recent events the Music for Memories has been re-named Music for Manchester and all profits will go to the British Red Cross appeal to support the people affected."
The programme include various musical compositions which allude to the theme of alleluia including Handel's Song for Athene, Jenkins Cantata Domino, Mascagni's East Hymn, Roger's Morning Hymn from the Sound of Music, Hail Holy Queen from Sister Act, Sheeran's Supermarket Flowers and Cohen's Hallelujah.
Mr Evans explains: "The concert programme is packed with joyous, fun and uplifting music including many familiar favourites - all themed around the word 'alleluia'. It's a real feelgood family friendly concert for all ages."
