A FORMER model and now published author in Sale is hosting an event to empower, enrich and enlighten women’s lives after she felt there was no support for her through her career.
Sian Gissing, aged 32, has modelled for nationwide publications such as FHM, where she has been voted Britain’s top 20 Girls to Date and been cover girl for Pole Position Magazine.
She has been voted Miss Grimsby and reached the finals of Miss England, along with many other achievements.
Sian has now started a campaign inspire woman to take control of their lives.
Her event, A Road To A Better Life will be held at Sale Waterside Art Centre on November 8 at 7:30pm.
It is designed for women who are stuck in a rut, unhappy, lost or suffering from low self-esteem.
Sian will focus on techniques she used throughout her career as professional model, author, and mentor to teach women how to create more love, health, wealth and happiness in their life, no matter what relationship status, current bank account figure or past history.
She said: “The reason why I decided to start this campaign is because when I needed help the most, there was no support at a local level, so I decided to create the help I needed, so other women would not have to experience the pain and suffering in silence like I had experienced.
"Society has many ideals for what a women 'should be'. And if we fall short of these false ideological perfections, then somehow there must be something wrong with us.
"Being a women, if I dressed up to look beautiful then others would judge that as me trying to be sexy for the opposite sex, some women would judge, some men would take advantage of their positions of power based on my looks, when in truth I was just a young lady experimenting with fashion, makeup and finding ways to be creative with how I looked."
"Then, choosing to have a child out of wedlock, I had the strength to choose to carry on a pregnancy without the need to trap or force my daughter's father into a relationship translated to 'single mum on her own'. Society somehow saw me as a victim when in truth I was empowered."
"My journey is living proof that happiness can come out of darkness - The world needs more positive self-secure women, role models for our daughters and the next generation."
Sian has also written a book, A Doorway To Love, available on Amazon.
