AN elderly man has died after a crash in Hale.
Shortly after 7.00pm on Sunday December 3 an 85-year-old woman was driving a blue Honda Jazz on Hale Road (A538) towards the M56.
The woman, who had a 95-year-old man as a passenger in the car collided with a stationary blue Jeep Cherokee near to Graysands Road.
Both were taken to Wythenshawe Hospital to be treated for their injuries and were released later that evening. The man’s condition deteriorated and on Thursday December 7 he passed away.
Officers from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses and anyone who has dash-cam footage.
Sergeant Jon McColl said: “Specially trained officers continue to support the man’s loved ones through this heart-breaking time.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw this collision take place or saw the Honda before the incident.
“At first, you might not have necessarily spoken to police because you might not have known how serious the collision was.
“If that’s the case, or you have any information about it, then please get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone with any information should call SCIU on 0161 856 4741.
