A 21-year-old man has died following a collision in Trafford.
Shortly before 1.45pm on Christmas Day, Monday December 25, a blue Peugeot 206 was travelling along Hardwick Road, Partington.
At the same time, a white Yamaha FZ6 motorcycle was being ridden in a south-easterly direction along Moss Lane.
As the Peugeot reached the junction, it was involved in a collision with the motorcycle. The rider, a 21-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he sadly died some time later.
The driver of the Peugeot stayed at the scene and no arrests have been made.
Police Sergeant Lee Westhead of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “In what is a heart-breaking time for the family of the motorcyclist, our thoughts and support are with them.
“We need to fully understand the circumstances, which have led to a young man losing his life and can only do this with the help of witnesses who were in the area.
“As always, dashcam footage is vital in us piecing together an investigation so I’d ask that any recordings are sent to us urgently, as well as any information people may have, specifically if they saw the motorcycle prior to the collision.”
Anyone with information should contact GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
