AS the annual ‘New Year, New Me’ campaign floats around social media a pub in Sale is helping the 2018 dieters with a new range of healthy dishes.
The Buck Inn on Green Lane is aiming to prove that healthy eating can still be enjoyed socially in the comfort of your local pub by putting a range of new dishes on the menu, dedicated to different health trends and needs.
Manager of the pub, Susan Jones said: “Just because it’s January, people don’t want to stop going out. If anything, they want to socialise more to beat those January blues and what better way than with affordable healthy alternatives? That’s not to say those who don’t need to compensate for December over indulgences aren’t catered for with pub classics like fish and chips and chicken and brie pie still on the menu."
New additions to the main menu include: grilled fillets of seabass, quinoa chilli, nachos and guacamole, cottage pie and vegetable noodle broth, all for under 500 calories.
For desert guests can enjoy sticky toffee pudding, crème brûlée, salted caramel bar, or cookie crumb profiteroles for under 250 calories.
New low-calorie drinks include: Bottlegreen sparkling press at only 83 calories or a Strawberry & Lime Rekorderlig Cider only 0.2% ABV and 190 calories, Gancia Leggero Prosecco just 81 calories a glass and Tanqueray gin 60 calories a serve.
