POLICE are appealing for information after an attempted abduction of a teenager in Urmston.
At around 5pm on Thursday February 8 2018, a 17-year-old teenage girl had been walking down a ginnel between Eden Square and Flixton Road when she was approached by a man.
He grabbed the teenager from behind and started dragging her through the ginnel to a nearby car park, but thankfully, the teenager managed to fight him off and run to safety.
Police were informed of the incident a short time later and an investigation is underway.
The offender is described as a skinny white man in his 30s and around 5ft 4inches tall. He was wearing blue jeans with holes in the knees and old red Adidas trainers.
Detective Sergeant Dave Jones of GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “Thankfully the teenage girl managed to escape and run to safety, but she has been left incredibly shaken by this traumatic experience. “Parents will understandably be concerned, which is why we’ve increased patrols in the area, so if you have any concerns or questions, please have a chat with these local officers who are there for you.
“It’s a busy time of day and this incident took place near to local shops, so if you were travelling around the area and saw anything that could help us identify who this man is, please get in touch.”
