AFTER rave reviews from the Over the Rainbow judges at the weekend, this local treat must be the icing on the cake for Urmston’s Dorothy.

Urmston confectioners Richard’s Cakes on Flixton Road has created a cake to urge people to support 18-year-old Danielle Hope.

Made and designed by manageress Emma Ball, the cake shows the teen walking down the yellow brick road in the prized ruby slippers and says “Vote Danielle”.

Rick Day, owner of the confectioners, said the cake had been a massive hit with customers since it was put in the window on Tuesday.

“Absolutely everyone who walks past is stopping and they are all putting their thumbs up.

“I think she is brilliant and will go on to win it and especially after her last performance, she went down a storm on Saturday.

“It’s so nice to get someone from the area who is doing so well,” he said.
