LANCASHIRE COUNTY Cricket Club’s marketing and communications team triumphed in a hotly-contested category at the inaugural MBNA Northern Sports Awards at The Point.
Despite stiff competition from the likes of the Co-operative, Active Cumbria, Manchester City and Bradford Bulls, LCCC won the ‘Best Sports Marketing and Communications Campaign’ for their work leading up to the England v Bangladesh npower Test Match in the summer of 2010.
LCCC gained praise from the media and the ECB during the Test match for achieving a near capacity crowd for the first two days, unheard-of for a Test against Bangladesh, especially outside London.
Cricket marketing manager Zoë Morgan said: “We worked our socks off during this campaign so it feels great to be rewarded in this way.”
