BRITISH Rail gave Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League leaders Cringlewood a scare before going down in the final match to lose 4-3.
The two points keeps Cringlewood at the summit but Rail won the gallon pairs at the end of the match.
In another tight match joint second-placed Central A won 4-3 against Timperley Cons.
Cons won the first game via Andy Kindred before Central A won the next three with dazzling darts thrown by Geoff Talbot, Darren Wood and Andy McCormack.
Cons hit back with John Chizzy winning his game in fine style before Central's Dave Stott beat Dan Cross to win the match, Gary Sullivan taking the last game for Cons who were beaten but won the gallon.
Central B won 6-1 against Navigation in the clash of the bottom two sides.
Central took the first three game with John Thierens and Dave Wood on particularly good form.
Navigation did have their say with a magnificent throw from Zoe Morris, who blasted her way round the board and took out the doubles and bull in emphatic style.
But Central took all the remaining matches with great darts from Dennis Hand and Jon Collins.
Central B now have a four-point gap off the bottom and they also won the gallon pairs.
