A team from Trafford have reached the Northern semi-finals of the Petanque England (PE) Euro Cup.
Petanque is another name for boules - a game from France using steel balls on hard ground.
And the Trafford team, who play at The Boulodrome in Stretford’s Victoria Park, have made the last four in the North Section.
They travelled to Bourne recently, near Lincolnshire, and were victorious against a much more experienced team to make the last four.
Coach Chris Kitson said: “This performance and achievement is a testament to the hard work, commitment to coaching and training, team mentality and the pure will to win that the team has.”
If Trafford win the overall national final, they will get to represent England in the Confédération de Européenne Pétanque (CEP) Euro Cup.
Anyone who would like to try playing Petanque, the club runs sessions at Victoria Park every Saturday from 10am. Visit traffordpetanque.co.uk/ for more details.
