The City of Manchester Rhythmic Academy (CMRA), based in Urmston, has two groups qualified for British Championships this weekend.

The annual event is attended by elite level rhythmic gymnasts who qualify through rigorous selection events.

Gymnasts Alice McLure, Arina Tsurkan, Eden Bland, Isobel Kerr, Rosamai Halluni and Sofia Kanakides (aged 10-12 years) make up CMRA’s Nebula group, which will compete in the ‘espoir’ age range.

Alannah Slater, Caitlin Slater, Daisy Beesley, Katerina Kastavunis, Kelis Kelly, Yasmin Mhar, all aged 16 to 21 years, form CMRA’s Senior group.

Head coach and CMRA founder, Claire Morgan, said: “We are very proud of our gymnasts attaining the qualification scores to represent CMRA at the 2024 British Championships in Telford.

“The hard work and dedication by all the gymnasts and families is admirable.

“The coaching team wishes the gymnasts all the success in their preparation for British Championships.”

The Rhythmic Gymnastics British Championships will be held between July 19-21 at Telford International Centre in the West Midlands.
