JUST to set the record straight, the hoardings referred to by Mr Ford (Messenger, November 2) have been installed by Trafford Housing Trust and not Trafford council.
After a vote by tenants, council homes were transferred to the ownership of the trust in March 2005 and the trust is now carrying out its promised five year programme of investment totalling £138m to improve the condition of their homes and estates across the borough. This programme was only possible if the homes were transferred from the council to a trust.
The hoardings on Firs Road and Harboro Road provide information and contact telephone numbers for the residents relating to the organisations involved in the regeneration work.
The hoardings have not been funded by the council and have nothing to do with local council elections.
David McNulty, Chief executive, Trafford council.
