WE HAVE all heard the saying "The Economics of the mad house". Well now, courtesy of Trafford council, we have seen it in practive.
The Tory controlled council has spent £10,700 on away day posh hotel bills so that senior councillors and officers of the council can discuss ways of cutting the borough's tax bill.
A question that should have been collectively asked before the jamboree took place - Was there any alternatives to this spending? The answer was (and all the Councillors involved should have known it) is of course there are alternatives. It seemes the swaying factor was not near as much fun.
Collectively and individually, yhe councillors who took part in this jaunt owe the people of Trafford an apology for frivously spending their money. We await.
