I HOPE the residents of Flixton Village are aware of the proposal to erect a 12-metre phone mast adjacent to the Ambleside Road/Flixton Road junction.
Once again these dangerous constructions are being placed in a highly populated residential area, close to many nearby primary schools. We regularly read about the increase of brain tumours and cancer especially in the young, and the suggestions that mobile phones and phone masts may be a contributory factor.
I urge the residents of Flixton to lobby to reject this application and to put the health of the young and local electorate, ahead of the monetary gain they will receive for the erection of this dangerous installation.
