IN response to an irate and damp pedestrian', who wrote in SAM, I agree regarding the state of the roads when wet.
I cycle down Northenden Road every day from Sale Moor to Sale and cannot believe how quickly huge pools of water form on both sides of the road. It is obvious the drainage system cannot cope with even the smallest amount of rainfall and this is before the leaves started to fall off the trees.
I see pedestrians dodging water that has been splashed by passing buses/cars, but there is a more serious problem as the sewage/effluent rises up from the drains to the surface, which poses a serious health risk to the pedestrians using Northenden Road.
