MAY I first congratulate the decision-making process behind the roadworks this November on Framingham Road, Sale.

A popular route on the school run to Brooklands Primary School, I still walk every day to school with my children. However, forced into the road with pushchair and kids, other people may of course think that I should have driven the short distance from my home just to add to the congestion. Why only this morning I saw someone lying on the pavement by the school crossing patrol on Brooklands Road, another casualty of the bad-mannered, inconsiderate, dangerous, hazardous driving I witness morning after morning. One driver, so busy rubber-necking at that accident, narrowly missed causing another as they drove through the red traffic lights at the pedestrian crossing.

The pedestrian waiting there, was expecting something like that to happen and waited until the 4x4 cruised past - probably en-route to the safari, which is where of course 4x4's are most suited for. Do we have one in Trafford now? What can you do to encourage people to walk, ease congestion, protect the environment, prevent accidents, save lives, etc, etc, etc. Come and have a look at the roadworks and you will see what I mean. The conditions particularly with the dark mornings are atrocious. I'm surprised I haven't seen more accidents.

Something needs doing.
