MY thanks to Conservative MP Graham Brady who recently confirmed that the Tories are looking at green taxes, which would replace other tax measures.

This of course follows Liberal Democrat policy, where we propose an income tax cut of 2p in the pound to fully offset rises in green taxes.

Mr Brady has a problem however. In a recent article he scathingly attacked the idea of green taxes on aircraft flights, highly polluting cars, light bulbs, patio heaters and excess packaging. If and when the Tories announce their green tax proposals, will he have to retract his words?
